Here We Go Again…

Having seen the publication of my biography of Henry Coombe-Tennant in October 2021, I have spent quite a bit of time promoting the book on social media, in the Press and on the radio (the Roy Noble show on BBC Radio Wales). I have also given a number of talks to local history and Probus/ WI groups etc.

Though dear old Henry remains close to my heart, I have also been busy researching (assisted by my wife) for my next project. I have been examining a huge number of records regarding the experience of Swansea and its people in the Second World War. I hope to soon start writing up my research and get it into print – hopefully in October 2023 or thereabouts.

Though – inevitably – the searing experience of the notorious “Three Nights’ Blitz” attacks of February 1941 looms large, I am also keen to tell the stories of ordinary citizens, evacuees, refugees, civil defence teams, and many other groups, not least the civic officials who struggled to maintain services in a devastated town.

I’ll be posting updates here from time to time… There is still much to see and do but the progress so far has been very encouraging.
